Recently I found out about a website called Tube Crush. It’s a forum where people can send in pictures taken of hot guys on the tube. These pictures are then posted and people can rate and comment on them. A similar concept, the Facebook page Women Who Eat on Tubes caused outrage recently. So, should we be feeling the same... I am not an adventurous person in the slightest. I like my home comforts, my own things and my own bed. But, a couple of months ago, myself and my friend Sarah spontaneously booked a few days away in Dublin. Okay, it wasn’t completely spontaneous. We had talked about it for a while. But it seemed like one of those... Read the rest of this post...

Traditionally, us Brits are known for our reserved natures. But, since Facebook has come into being, this ‘stiff upper lip’ seems to have gone out of the window. When did it become okay to air dirty laundry on such a public forum? (Image via) Everyone knows that 95% of your Facebook friends aren’t actually friends at all. They’re people you... (Warning this post contains spoilers.) I absolutely LOVE Channel Four’s ‘My Mad Fat Diary’. What’s the show about? In a nutshell it’s about a teenager called Rae who is growing up in the nineties. Rae is overweight and suffering from mental health issues. (Image via) Series one focuses on Rae finding new friendships after time away in a psychiatric unit.... Read the rest of this post...

If worrying gives you wrinkles, then by now I should look like one of those Shar Pei dogs. I would need a huge vat of anti-wrinkle cream. I am a massive worrier and some days I feel like I have the weight of the world on my shoulders. Sometimes it’s big things that worry me: global warming, flooding, the recession. Sometimes a small thing that happens can make me worry about a whole heap of other things. I know that worrying is a waste of time and completely unproductive, and I often tell other people this, but I find it difficult to take my own advice.

It’s the start of the new year and, like many of you, I’ve been thinking about all the stuff I want to do in the year ahead. As New Year’s resolutions go, helping others and doing good deeds seem to be high on several people’s lists, myself included. For me ‘helping others’ also includes helping animals. If you haven’t already... Read the rest of this post...

Christmas is just around the corner, which inevitably means work dos, crimbo dinners and festive parties. This usually involves having to be social with some people that you know less well than others, which combined with varying amounts of mulled wine and other tipples, can lead to some awkward situations. It could range from a wardrobe malfunction to an under-the-mistletoe... Read the rest of this post...

I am definitely NOT a gym-bunny. Two minutes on the cross-trainer and I am already thinking about all the other things I’d rather be doing e.g. watching Coronation Street and eating a packet of biscuits. The longest I’ve had a gym membership for is a year, which I think is a serious achievement! I don’t mean I paid for it... Read the rest of this post...

So I have been a working, tax-paying member of society for about a year now. Yes, it’s good to no longer be spending frustratingly long periods of time filling in job applications, stressing over what to wear to interviews and freaking out about the prospect of being unemployed forever. But I don’t deny that I miss being a student. Everyone... Read the rest of this post...

So, a few weeks ago I took the morning off work for an appointment up in London. I promised my manager that I’d be back at the end of lunchtime. And if you know anything about me I always keep my promises. But as my luck would have it, things did not go as planned. (Image via) Firstly, my appointment... Read the rest of this post...
