How often have you said: ‘I do like getting gifts but I LOVE giving at Christmas?’ Everyone loves giving right? It gives you a warm feeling inside when you know you have found the ‘perfect’ item for a friend or family member but, in the season of good will, where can we draw the line between giving for others and giving for ourselves? …Have you ever felt uncomfortable opening gifts? or sensed the pressure looming across the room towards you. Have you found yourself mentally rehearsing your reaction because you’re afraid you’ll look ungrateful? Would you change YOUR gift-giving ways if you knew your recipient felt this way?

I remember the first time I witnessed sexual harassment. I was 17, in a nightclub with my aunty. Hold up, hold up! I know what you’re thinking. YOU WERE WHAT!? (Yes I was a wild one!) My aunty was pretty cool (she still is, I don’t know why I’m talking about her as if she’s dead). (Image via) So there we... Read the rest of this post...

Almost everyone I know is stuck in that part of life where they’re happily bobbing along in their early twenties and then realise that 25 is just around the corner. FIVE YEARS UNTIL 30. Eurgh. Anyway, the mid-twenties crisis has popped up on my Facebook news feed a lot recently. “10 ways to get out of your quarter-life crisis”, “12... Read the rest of this post...

Last week I asked you to vote for your favourite feel-good film starring Emily Blunt and you voted for The Muppets. Clearly not enough of you have seen The Young Victoria, so why don’t you get on that after you’ve read this post! (Image via) The Muppets, for those of you who claim to be too grown up for ‘kids”... This weekend I had my mum round to stay for some much needed girl-time. Aside from the nails and boy-talk that inevitably ensued, being a fellow foodie we were soon cooking up a storm together in the kitchen. We decided to make one of our favourite Jamie Oliver recipes for Moroccan Mussels and wash it down with a nice bottle... Read the rest of this post...

How many times have you heard a friend mention how grossed out they are by the idea of sex on menses? Actually, how often does anyone even speak openly about ‘riding the crimson wave’? ‘Hardly ever’, do I hear you say? I’m not saying you should have sex on menses – it’s a personal choice to make under specific circumstance... Read the rest of this post...

I’ve just started seeing someone new. He’s sweet, he’s nice, there’s none of these games that boys love to constantly play and it’s really damn easy. I’ve not once felt insecure, don’t feel the need to keep checking my phone and he even ticks all the boxes of The Potential New Boyfriend Equation. I even got references from his ex... Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Bit of a mouthful, right? Well, let me tell you, it’s worth talking about. Haven’t seen it yet? Let me fill you in. Kate Winslet plays Clementine, an impulsive woman who has the quiet and reserved Joel (played by Jim Carrey) removed from her memory when she gets bored of their relationship. Joel decides... We did the unthinkable this weekend! We put our Christmas tree up early, normally I’m a last minute kinda girl, I’ve never understood why Christmas should start so early, but, having missed out on festivities last year, due to er….. giving birth, we decided, what the hell! Let’s be THAT family! So, while the (synthetic) fire crackled and the decs... Read the rest of this post...

Okay I am going to confess two things to you. DON’T TELL ANYONE. Number one I love Ted. No, not the philandering teddy in the hit 2012 movie (although I do love him) or Hot Ted who lives down my street (okay okay I kinda do love him too a little bit). I am talking about TED talks. ‘O gawwd!... Read the rest of this post...
