Tube Crush: Is It Okay To Post Pictures Of Strangers Online?

Tube Joy

Recently I found out about a website called Tube Crush. It’s a forum where people can send in pictures taken of hot guys on the tube. These pictures are then posted and people can rate and comment on them. A similar concept, the Facebook page Women Who Eat on Tubes caused outrage recently. So, should we be feeling the same... Restaurant Review: Tagine Tuesdays at Ayoush

thumbs_smay16

London’s Hidden Gems The last thing I think of when someone says ‘North African cuisine’ is ‘one of the best Cosmopolitans I’ve had in ages’. At least that was the case, until I discovered Ayoush. Set on the corner of St. Christopher’s Place, a conglomerate of restaurants and shops just off of Oxford street, Ayoush surprised and delighted me with... Read the rest of this post...

Where Did You Come From, Where Will You Go?

500_days_of_summer

When I booked tickets to head home for the long Easter weekend, I was looking forward to taking a ‘breather’ – I hadn’t left the big city in over 3 months and missed the countryside. So besides baking, drinking ridiculous amounts of tea and hanging out with my family, I took a long bike ride, went for two woodland walks... Read the rest of this post...

Show ‘Em What You’ve Got

Shameless Maya

Dinnertime at the Johnson household usually means being subjected to my mother’s fascination with back-to-back nightly news, and last weekend was no different. After getting bummed out about all the mayhem in the world, and realising that the news anchor was wearing hipster glasses, a story came on that got me thinking about my professional life. The report was on career coach, Peggy Klaus, who has a programme that teaches high school girls how to brag. She said that women have a tendency to 'put our heads down and do really good work', while cheering for co-workers.

Feel Good Film: Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure

Bill and Ted

Dudes, there’s this totally bodacious movie you need to check out this weekend. School got you stressed? Party on with Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure. (Image via) Most of our aliljoy writers and readers are from that in-between generation – the one where we were only babies/toddlers when the 1980s classics were originally released but saw them at a young enough... What’s our ‘Euro vision?’

BritianEuropeJobs

This weekend the crème de la crème of Europe’s music scene (well…sort of) gather to represent their country with their talent (however questionable). Yes, that’s right it’s Eurovision. But with UKIP constantly in the news and the up and coming European elections it’s been praying heavily on my mind: How much do we really want to be a part of Europe?

A Twenty-Something’s Guide on How to Get Your Shit Together (Part 2)

NikeInspirationQuote

So last week I talked a bit about how to get your shit together when you have no idea what you’re doing with your life. But how about when you know EXACTLY what you want to do!?! You’d think that would be easier hey! But turns out finding the strength, motivation and courage to make your dreams a reality can be a... Read the rest of this post...

The Emotional Constipation of British Dating

Email Regards

I coaxed my brother and sister out the other week with the promise of pizza and beer. We got onto the subject of the differences between Brits and Americans. In a massive generalisation, we agreed that Americans seem to carry a lot more confidence than Brits and we started to joke about how British people ‘push the feelings down’ before...
