Arrrgghhh! Why am I so bloody awkward?!?! I am, unfortunately, one of those people who embarrasses easily. This has come from my younger years, those who have ever been made fun of when you were younger will know that feeling of shame – and it stays with you forever. The dread, the panic and the sweat come flooding back every... Read the rest of this post...

I got a text recently from a very good friend of mine ranting about the men in her office, the lasting statement being: ‘I bet mountains aren’t sexist!’ ‘No’, I thought. ‘No, they most certainly are not’, as I packed up my backpack for the day, opened my map and made sure I knew the route I was taking my... The other day I received a teeny tiny message in a bottle from one of my best friends. In it were the words: Dream. Believe. Do. Repeat. Many people wonder: what’s the recipe for success? Good question! I mean, whether it’s your personal health, career or relationships, what really makes a person successful at what they do? How do you... Read the rest of this post...

Sometimes, we have a vision of how our lives will be. Very rarely is this ever carried off into reality. Imagine when it does and it’s the glorious moment where the film director articulates the book as if they were reading your own imagination. However this is very rare. When I was younger, and I used to think about what... Read the rest of this post...

So I’m real poor at the moment. Like, I thought I was poor last year… I wasn’t. A few months in London drained me of a good £4000. High rent, travel expenses and a kitchen I couldn’t cook in (so always had to buy food in) meant I was spending all the money I was earning – and then some.... Read the rest of this post...

It is with a little bit of sadness that I write this post, but last week I was dumped, simple as that and although I’m an avid fan of rom-coms and the empowering hails of Cher and Beyonce, I didn’t exactly follow the standard Bridget-esque routine (well, there was wine). After spending the day bonding over cats in Soho’s cat... Read the rest of this post...

Today, I found myself in a situation I didn’t really want to be in – it was a situation that was going to hurt and upset a very old friend. It was a situation that had me backed into a corner and there was no way out but to be brutally honest and take the punches. But it got me... Read the rest of this post...

We go about our daily lives with the world buzzing around us; and yet, we often take for granted how much can happen in a single day. Sometimes, particularly on a working day, life can feel a bit repetitive. ‘Am I getting anywhere or just repeating the same day?’ Whenever this question enters my head, I am most certainly taking for... I feel like I ‘ve been told so many times to be happy, to embrace life, that I’m beautiful - well you know what sometimes I’m just not. And you know what- after I started acknowledging that I felt a relief. It wasn’t ‘happiness’: This isn’t me saying that everything was better because it wasn’t, it was still shit - but I got on with it. Feel every emotion. We can’t be happy all the time because if we were - well, what would there be to write about?

I’m currently sat with a raging hangover, still in my pyjamas and covered in bruises from last night’s birthday celebrations at the local roller disco (who’d have thought we’d be saying that in 2014?) In two days I’m 25. TWENTY FIVE. Quarter of a century, half way to fifty. A milestone I’ve been dreading for a long time. I’m one... Read the rest of this post...
