Living In The Clouds: What Dreams Give Us
I was always one of those people who would stare out in the middle of the room every time my maths class took a boring turn (which was often).
In short, I was a daydreamer, a person who lived on Cloud Nine and was very reluctant to get down. I use to dream about the future and what it holds – mostly dreaming about my future career path.
Was I going to be a cool ethical superhero journalist like Superman, or a top end lawyer in London?
I know it sounds really silly, but I miss having those moments. Those moments gave me relief at the end of a hard day and provided hope that perhaps one day, maybe, one day, I could do what I always wanted.

Now all I do is stress and turn on the TV to keep me sane, living in someone else’s fantasy or life instead of my own.
Most people think dreams about being successful are childlike and silly, because as adults we should be practical and sensible and not give ourselves false hope.
Well, in my opinion, Ba Humbag!
If I wasn’t dreaming of greatness in my life like being the next great female journalist, like Alex Crawford, I would be thinking about the all the terrible things that could go wrong in my future. I would be thinking about whether my future even holds a prospect of a job.
I should be thinking positively and having hope: believing that with a positive mind comes great things.
There is no use in thinking negatively because you will only become bitter about everything, and the worst thing you can do is doubt yourself.
You are the most powerful person, and you should never let anyone tell you otherwise – NOBODY !
We have more power to do things than we ever imagined.
If there is one thing I have learnt in life so far, it is that bad things will pass, so you should always have hope, which can only be done by dreaming.
On the other hand, I do understand the downside: keeping yourself supposedly happy by living in your little fantasy world and this stopping yourself from progressing in reality.

But that’s exactly what I want people to understand. Don’t get carried away living solely in your own little mind; your imagination is a place for peace and solace rather than a false portrayal of your life. Use your dreams as motivation to achieve what you want to do or be. Remind yourself every time you’re feeling low of the kind of things you want and how happy you would be once you have achieved your goal.
So remember dream big and stay motivated.
